How would you describe your time at Messiah Housing?
This was the most challenging envioronment I have ever worked in. I worked closely with the Executive Director to develop affordable housing in the Islandview Community on the east side of Detroit. I wrote CDBG, HOME and County Community Development grants. I wrote development proformas, planned developments, presented planned projects to municipal, funding and community stakeholders....

I truly enjoyed the opportunity to work with developers and citizens to buy property and plan their developments through property disposition, site plan review and resolution of title issues. I worked hard to streamline the sales process with my co-workers in the city planning, finance, and law departments....

I worked very hard to coordinate support services for public housing sites in Detroit. I was the liaison between residents councils, HUD and the Commission. I wrote qualitative and quantitative reports for our HUD requirements. I coordinated trainings on board development, financial management and non-profit 501 (c)(3) designation....

How would you describe your time at thomas m. cooley law school?
I finally found the law. I loved my time at Cooley. My sincerest regret was that I could not quit my job and dedicate the time to my studies. One day I will return and finish my degree. Did I say that this was the most rewarding, mentally stimulating experience of my life? I love the law.

How would you describe your time at university of detroit mercy?
I returned to school to finish my masters degree. I found the newly formed program stimulating. Although this was promoted as an evening program accommodating working professionals the early class times proved a bit too demanding for my work schedule.

As a graduate student I enjoyed exploring the impact of socio-economic and political factors on the development of our communities. I gained an understanding of how state, federal and local governments make decisions, fund programs, and how their policies shape our cities, states, and the nation.
